Brief: Create an original typeface with uppercase letters, punctuation, and numbers. Including a way to display the type uniquely.
Inspiration: I was inspired by continuous line drawing to create this futuristic typeface. I didn't want the letters to close, clearly show the endpoint of the type, and have no overlapping lines. I used a grid to create the type and found working with angles added more character, and rounding some of the edges created a nice balance to the sharpness.
Since the type has a futuristic style, I decided to laser cut my type onto two pieces of acrylic that created an "outer space" feeling. I made the spiraling type reminiscent of a black hole to decoratively display the type and a background for the regular display.
